Sovereignty Stance

Privacy & Data Sovereignty

Drift is built on a clear principle: you are entering a place, not enrolling in a surveillance product. This document describes exactly what is computed, what stays on your machine, and what touches our network.

1. Local Storage on Your Device

Drift saves your progress and sensory preferences using your browser’s localStorage:

  • drift-save-v1: Records your position in space, charted sectors, witnessed celestial phenomena, and recorded echoes. This never leaves your device.
  • drift-preferences: Stores your preferred motion profile (Still, Drift, Wonder), sound mute state, and visual contrast preference so returning feels seamless.

You can clear these anytime via your browser settings or using the Reset option in the sensory menu.

2. No Trackers, No Analytics, No Cookies

We do not use Google Analytics, advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, fingerprinting scripts, or session recording tools.

Our Content Security Policy (CSP) and Permissions Policy explicitly disallow camera, microphone, geolocation, and cross-site browsing topic tracking.

3. Network Requests & Serverless Functions

The vast majority of Drift runs locally in your browser. The only network requests made during normal use are:

  • Static Assets & Fonts: Simulation files and Google Fonts (Hanken Grotesk).
  • Astronomical Ephemeris: Calculated completely client-side from your system clock and timezone. We do not prompt for your GPS location.
  • Optional Mira Companion Chat: If you deliberately open and chat with Mira, dialogue messages and your live region context are sent to a Netlify serverless function proxying Anthropic Claude. These requests are stateless and not used for ad profiling.
  • Waitlist Form: If you voluntarily choose to join our mailing list, your email is submitted via Netlify Forms and stored solely to communicate product updates.

4. Studio Contact

Drift is made by Martori Studio (SanctuaryApp, Inc.). For questions regarding our data practices or code verification, reach out at brian@martori.studio.
